The itineraries listed here are typical but not definitive as different ship operators will sail to slightly different schedules. In particular several cruises offer Stanley (Falkland Islands) as a start or end point. Weekly scheduled flights from Punta Arenas (Chile) mean this can offer less time at sea and more time on the (fascinating) Falklands themselves. Please just ask us for details.
Itineraries are classified as follows: Classic: Our favourite itineraries. Group: Escorted group tours. Press: Itineraries we have prepared to accompany press articles. Specialist: Specialist itineraries, such as trekking, rafting, fishing or riding.
Classic itineraries (just Antarctica)
-
Antarctic Air Cruise - fly direct to the peninsula and cruise between the western coast and the South Shetland Islands.
This 7 day itinerary lets you maximise time spent in Antarctica itself while also avoiding the notorious Drake Passage crossing (at least one way) by flying from Punta Arenas (Chile) to King George Island (the largest of the South Shetland Islands). 5 nights are spent aboard ship.

Classic Antarctica - a cruise to the far south includes abundant wildlife, stunning scenery and huge icebergs
This is the classic introduction to Antarctica and is the minimum time necessary to both navigate to and fully appreciate the wonderful wildlife and breathtaking scenery of the far south. Most cruises are 9-11 days and include the principal visitor sites of the Antarctic peninsula and South Shetland Islands, with plenty of time for educational and illuminating lectures from naturalist expedition staff.

Ultimate Antarctica - cruise around the peninsula, admiring the abundant wildlife of the Falklands and South Georgia
These 17-20 day cruises (depending on ship and departure point) are the ultimate polar experience. They add the Falkland Islands and South Georgia to a classic South Shetland Islands/Antarctic Peninsula cruise and provide the very best wildlife-viewing opportunities in outstanding scenery. You can expect multiple landings on most days, and to see whales, sea birds, and at least 5 species of penguin at close quarters. An unforgettable experience.
