Sian Lloyd and her husband Jonathan visted Brazil with Last Frontiers. Her article was published in the Mail on Sunday on 11 March 2012 (please forgive her spelling of Paraty!).
Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu
Their journey began in Rio, where they stayed at the iconic Copacabana Palace, owned by Orient-Express. They then continued south to the Iguassu Falls (see picture) and stayed at the famous Hotel Das Cataratas right next to the Brazilian side of the falls.
Pantanal
They flew to Cuiaba, the main gateway to the northern Pantanal, and stayed at the Pousada do Rio Mutum. We really like this ranch - it's far from any roads and so maximises wildlife viewing opportunities.
Paraty
Their final stop was in the colonial town of Paraty, on the 'green' coast south of Rio and north of São Paolo. The Casa Paraty is a really stunning private house which sleeps up to eight with a full concierge service - ideal for a family or small group of friends.
