Description
A charming lodge in a 20,000 hectare private nature reserve, on the edge of the River Tempisque in Guanacaste. The owner's original hacienda house, surrounded by grassy plains and wetlands, has been renovated to feature comfortable rooms that reflect the traditions of authentic ranch life. There is a cosy restaurant and bar, extensive gardens and a swimming pool. The area is excellent for wildlife, particularly birdwatching.
Activities
Bird watching, boat trips along the Tempisque River, wetland tours, riding and walking in the dry forest. There is also the opportunity to visit the homemade cheese factory and small bakery. Artisanal beer is produced too. Excursions to nearby national parks, including Palo Verde, and places of interested can be organised locally.
Accommodation
There are 10 rooms, most of which have a balcony and wonderful views of the surroudning countryside. Some of the rooms can be interconnected for families.
