Description
A comfortable lodge on a private estate on the Ruta de las Flores, well situated for visiting coffee plantations and the nearby towns of interest. There are lovely gardens, two outdoor pools and a restaurant. There are three petroglyphs over 2,500 years old on the owner's land, and guests are able to visit them.
Activities
The Apaneca canopy tour is close by, with 12 cables through the tree canopy. Thre are waterfalls and viewpoints nearby and some excellent hiking. Mountain biking and bird watching can be organised and you can visit a nearby coffee mill.
Accommodation
There are 19 rooms in total, split between two garden areas, with each block overlooking a pool, and with an individual hammock on the terrace. They have a rustic feel but are comfortable and spacious with pleasant décor and lovely painted sinks in the bathrooms.
Our comments
They do receive groups for lunch from the beach (as do all hotels on the Ruta de las Flores) but not many people actually stay, apart from locals on weekend breaks from the capital.
