Description

A two-bedroomed self catering unit with 24 hour power, a communal lounge, fridge, gas cooker and shared W/C and shower room. The unit is 30 minutes overland in a 4x4 from the Saunders settlement and airstrip.

Activities

Nearby is the Falklands Islands largest black-browed Albatross colony and a walk further on takes you to the Rockhopper penguin colony. In the other direction is a stunning beach and magellanic penguin colony. There are good chances of seeing whales out at sea.

Accommodation

Despite its location the Rookery is comfortable and although guests will not have to share a bedroom, they will have to share the W/C and shower room.

There is also alternative accommodation at 'The Neck', another self catering unit with 2 quad rooms of bunk beds with shared lounge and bathroom.

Our comments

It's fantastic to have this whole area to yourselves. You must be aware that you may have to share the facilities, and will need to cook your own meals (food packages can be sent from Stanley).
