Description

Set on a coffee plantation, Finca Lerida is a small hotel with fine views of the plantations and hills beyond. The property has remained in the same family for over 100 years. The restaurant serves Panamanian and international cuisine.

Activities

Visit the coffee plantation with its museum (open to non-residents too), walk in the cloud forest and enjoy excellent birdwatching (quetzals are often seen).

Accommodation

The original house built in 1922, is full of character and would be good for families. The newer block has modern rooms with en-suite facilities overlooking the gardens, and a central communal sitting room with reference books, bar and TV.

Finca Lerida was excellent. Nice stay there. Walked miles round the trails in search of Quetzals and failed miserably. Also did the coffee tour, which was fascinating. (The Los Quetzales Trail was brilliant, thank you so much for suggesting this. It is obviously surprisingly little used). - S&MH (February 2010)
