Location
Historic centre (Arequipa, Peru)
Description
A luxury boutique, central hotel, one block from the main square, the Plaza de Armas, and a short walk from the Santa Catalina monastery. The hotel itself was once part of the San Agustin church, and it retains the architectural style of 1540, when the city was built, with powerful volcanic sillar rock forming the arches, columns and high-vaulted ceilings. The rooftop restaurant, surrounded by an organic garden, has wonderful views of the city and surrounding area. A second dining room and sitting area is exclusive to hotel guests, and there is also a heated plunge pool and a therapy spa room.
Activities
One full day or two half day excursions within Arequipa are included when rooms are booked on an all-inclusive basis.
Accommodation
The hotel has just 11 guest rooms, in 3 categories, all centred around 2 large patios, and all with air-conditioning and heating. Rooms are spacious with good facilities, including living rooms and private bathrooms with separate rainfall showers. The Boveda rooms also have separate bath.
