Kavac, Canaima and Angel Falls

South flank of Auyán-tepui (Canaima and Angel Falls, Venezuela)

Description

A small purpose-built village with warm yellow adobe in a stunning position in the shadow of the towering Auyán-tepui table-top mountain.

Accommodation

Hammocks, or there are some simple rooms with bathrooms. Cold water only, generator for a few hours in the evening.

Our comments

Most visitors see Kavac on day-trips from Canaima, but it is a magical place to spend a night and a starting-point for river trips down the Akenan and Carrao rivers.
