Activities

Excursions into the jungle, or down the mangrove-lined creeks (dolphins, howler and capuchin monkeys, scarlet ibis, piranhas), and visits to the Indian communities.

Accommodation

The lodge is built in Warao style and all rooms are netted against the ever-present mosquitos

An amazing place and the Lodge was perfect for us. The food was exceptional and the best of the whole trip. Our guide Antonio was also brilliant and a bit of a romantic! He arranged a candlelit dinner for two next to the river on our last night which was lovely. We saw fireflies in the jungle at night (from our bed!), and toucans and macaws on our day trips. The Orinoco Delta Lodge was my favourite place in Venezuela, with very friendly staff and on a nice small scale, in a beautiful and tranquil setting. I would have liked another day there! - EW (February 2006)
