Description

On a working farm in a remote area, this pousada is very comfortable and run by a charming family. There is road access most of the way and then the journey continues by 4x4 through the open savanna to the São Joáo farm. There are a couple of rooms for guests in the main house, and then a separate bunglow in the garden with three more bedrooms. The food is excellent and the walls are filled with beautiful paintings done by the lady of the house.

Activities

A short distance to the swamp-land, and surrounded by savanna, excursions are plentiful and varied for the birds and wildlife, including anacondas and giant anteaters. Riding is a popular activity with guests, and there are motorbike trails and cattle work available.

Accommodation

To the side of the house, there is a covered jacuzzi which affords views of the cattle grazing by day, or the star-filled sky by night. On the roof there is a terrace for further star-gazing. There is another farm on the property, São Roque, just in the foothills of the Maracaju range when the temperature is more forgiving, so guests can visit here too for a change of scenery.

This family have really put their heart into offering a comfortable place to stay in a beautiful area near the Rio Negro.
